Breaking the Bias with Olympia Mall

PHNOM PENH: On 8 March, International Women’s Day, Olympia Mall is celebrating women and raising awareness on the daily challenges and biases women face. Women shouldn’t be celebrated one day a year, but with awareness of these challenges, perhaps, women can have more equal opportunities to celebrate.

Olympia Mall is holding an event with #BreakTheBias as the central theme and main point of discussion. Key speakers from various industries as well as the government, such as H.E. Soun Sorita, Okhna Keo Mom, Chea Ratha, Tharoth Sam, and Singer Prima, will discuss the expectations that are held about women in their jobs and careers, regarding things like 'feminine attributes', and how such stereotypes can be broken down. The speakers will also discuss the challenges and successes they have individually faced in their respective industries along the way.

This festival will also include a musical performance with the support of Poung Studio, Singer Prima, and DJ Avida.

Quoting Michelle Obama, “There is no limit to what we, as women, can accomplish,” that is what Olympia Mall hopes to inspire with this festival. The festival will start at 1 PM on 8 March, at Olympia Mall on Monireth Blvd (217), Veal Vong district, 7 Makara district, in Phnom Penh.
